Leaflet Marketing for gyms is the way to go, full stop. Social media is everyone’s favourite medium, and we’re big fans of it here at UK Leaflets, but we don’t think it should be your sole marketing channel.
In fact, social media tends to be a closed echo chamber for a lot of us, thanks to algorithms prioritising friends’ content over business content. That means that, although you’re doing your best to reach new customers, your posts are more than likely going unseen by the vast majority of followers.
Even if you decide to opt for paid adverting through Google and Facebook, you can see who has been shown your ad, but that doesn’t mean they registered what they were seeing.
That’s where leaflet marketing for gyms has the advantage.
Printed materials still hold a certain gravitas that the online world can’t compete with. If you’re a gym owner, personal trainer or fitness professional, you really need to adopt print marketing into your arsenal.
You can hand people a physical leaflet in the street
Marketing is still about getting out there. By meeting daily commuters, shoppers or residents in person and handing them a flyer, you know the prospect has seen and touched the piece of paper. This contains your details and it’s more likely to stick in their mind than telling them your Twitter handle.
You can land in people’s homes
Leaflet drop marketing allows you to meet people in their own homes. They may be looking for a gym close by or have read about you in the local paper. The fact you are reaching out to them will leave a positive impression. You can’t guarantee who your ad will end up in front of with a Facebook Ad, but with geographical targeting, you know your leaflets are getting to the people who matter.
Update Your Current Customers
You may be changing your class timetable and want to let your current members know. So you send them an email, but it ends up in their junk folder, or you send them a text and they forget to check the link. Let them know about your exciting new classes with a leaflet by the door that they can take home and peruse at their leisure.
Create competition forms
Leaflet marketing can be used as a data collection activity. In order to incentivise people to submit their details, offer a reward or a competition prize in a draw.
Get your brochures and guides to the people that matter
Gyms host programmes for newcomers who want to learn about fitness, or for those more established gym-goers who want to ramp up their routines. Literature to go with the courses can help the student understand more about the topics. You can include booklets with activities for them to complete in their own time. If you send this content as a PDF, it probably won’t get looked at as there is no physical reminder it even exists. Plus reading a PDF on a smartphone isn’t much fun. Instead, include a printed pack they can review on the bus.
