While beauty businesses are still not able to open their doors for business while they await government guidance, it won’t be long before you can welcome your clients back.
Assuming you’ve done all your risk assessments and implemented your new ways of working, you now need to think about marketing. Here are some ways you can prepare for your relaunch.
Design your leaflet campaign
Neighbours need to know you’re back in business. They will be excited to do this as they have missed feeling pampered while stuck at home. You’ll most likely call your regular clients up to book them in, but don’t stop there. For people who’ve never used your service before, draft a leaflet campaign to tell them you’re open and you’ve got lots of space for new appointments. Many workers like to get their treatments done near to their work, but if they’re working from home, they may not know you’re just around the corner.
A leaflet campaign should include:
- A little about you and your business
- Information on treatments
- Contact information including a website address
- A voucher code for tracking
- A Covid-19 notice explaining how you intend to keep people safe and what you expect from them.
- Add a few testimonials and pictures.
If designing is not your forte, we can help you out with a team of professionals who can turn around your flyer in very little time.
Choose your area
You need to be selective about where you send your flyers to. The homes you deliver to should be walkable, and maybe you can go a little further afield for those who don’t mind a short drive. Our mapping tool helps you decide where to send your leaflets for maximum impact and is available as part of our Premium Solus package.
Select your package
Do you want a solus delivery or a shared delivery? We highly recommend a solus delivery as this has more impact on the doormat. With shared delivery, your leaflet gets lost with a pile of other marketing literature and most likely won’t even get seen. With solus distribution, yours is the only one so there’s an increased likelihood the residents will pick it up and peruse it.
We have three packages to offer, with more benefits as you upgrade. Some of our favourite features are bespoke mapping, GPS tracking and photographic evidence. You also get more detailed reporting if you select Premium.
Leaflet deliveries are all about trust – It’s not always clear straight away what the return on investment is from your door drop campaign, so it’s important for you to see how your delivery is progressing. That’s why we’ve included these extras.
Right now, it’s important to increase your brand awareness within your locality and over time, people will respond.
Wait for the phone to ring
This is a most advantageous time to be advertising your service and everyone needs some self-care after three months of being at home. When you pick up the phone to your customers, be sure to ask them for the voucher code on the leaflet so you can find out how they heard about your business. That way, you will be able to track your campaign success.
Leafleting is a long game. It may take a few campaigns for people to really recognise you. Dr Jeffrey Lant the marketing expert proposes that people need you to make contact with them at least seven times within 18 months to really get on their radar. Sales training company The Rain Group has similar advice. Their studies have shown that you need eight contacts with a potential customer before an initial conversion. This serves to illustrate that if your first campaign doesn’t achieve lots of sales right away, then don’t be discouraged.
